Internships

To apply for any internship listed below, please send a single Microsoft word document or PDF with: a cover letter, resume (including contact information for 2 references), and one brief writing sample (2-4 pages). Curriculum and Resource Development Intern - 8 hours per week, un-paid

The position's duties include:

  • Conduct analysis of current curriculum to determine appropriateness for Tutoring Program objectives
  • Research assessment tools for out-of-school time programs
  • Research best practices and methods in PreK-12 out-of-school time programs and ELL programs
  • Identify potential partnerships with other agencies and organizations in the DC metro area
  • Create material (lesson plans, art activities, etc) and ensure that all current material is aligned with researched best practices
  • Develop plans for special academic events (workshops, STEM fairs, etc)

 

Social Media Intern - 8 hours per week, un-paid

The position's duties include:

  • Prospect research for grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donors
  • Research on potential partnerships with other agencies and organizations
  • Assisting with donor outreach through emails and phone calls
  • Creating a database of potential grants, sponsorships, donors, and partnerships
  • Developing plans for possible fundraising activities (happy hours, 5K, etc)
